What it does
While a handful of general professional networking sites may exist, Orglex caters to many very specific crowds- the website is a networking site for industry verticals. Industries range from media and advertising to financial services to automotive, and within each category are potentially dozens more subsections. Under each “hub,” as they are so called, Orglex aggregates the relevant headlines of the day, serves up new job postings in the industry, is a database for professionals in the field, and a publisher of industry-specific blogs. Featured employers include AT&T, citigroup, and Kaiser Permanente.

Why it might be a killer
Orglex is a site that is useful for everyone. It is a one-stop hub for daily news, and to search for jobs or communicate with others in the industry- across hundreds of fields. In the future, the site could be the go-to place for professionals in any of these featured industries.
Some questions
Can users set up a function so different but interrelated industries can be combined? (For example, a technology PR firm may be interested in “magazines” and “telecom.”) Also, how active is the social component of the site?

What it does
Do you want to gather more data on the visitors to your website or blog? Do you want to retain the control that is associated with open source projects? If so, then piwik is just the site for you. The application aims to be the open source competitor to Google Analytics, and has a variety of widgets to give the program a run for its money. In its basic format, there are four different categories- dashboard, visitors, actions, and referrers. Beneath each section are a variety of analytical widgets (that the administrator can delete, add, or create as they see fit) that can be listed in a variety of ways (bar graph, pie charts, simple writing).

Why it might be a killer
piwik is informative and free. However, these characteristics could also apply to Google Analytics- the user control (and ability to improve the program) is the main appeal of the site. Beyond that, the program is intuitive and easy to use.

What it does
There’s plenty of low budget airlines and airfare finders cropping up. You’d think it would be easy to get a decently priced ticket these days. It’s not though. Airlines are perpetually throwing in charges for anything they can think of—extra weight (for baggage too), gas fees, antiterrorist fees, food, drinks, uniforms, or what have you. Luckily, for the European traveler, there’s EasyLow, a new airfare search engine. It’s the spawn of the Italian travel site Zingarate.com and carries on where the site left off. Whereas Zingarate.com is only in Italian, EasyLow has options for both English and Italian. While primarily aimed at European Travellers, you’ll find rates from around the world. EasyLow boast a search engine that contains 92 airlines, 635 cities, and 17,277 routes. Travel from Abu Dhabi to Los Angeles, or Oslo to Berlin and you’ll find fares. Airlines include the most popular low-cost European carriers like EasyJet and AirBerlin.
